Book Tour: Miss Peregrine's Home For Peculiar Children by Ransom Riggs

Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar ChildrenWe're delighted to offer a most unusual, not to mention visually stunning, book for tour in the form of Miss Peregrine's Home For Peculiar Children by debut YA author Ransom Riggs.  Quite unique in both it's premise and execution this is a story not to miss...

Jacob has grown up with his grandfather’s strange tales. Stories of a fantastical orphanage, filled with bizarre inhabitants and run by a mysterious Bird. While the orphanage is always portrayed as a place of sanctuary, Abe’s stories also have their darker side with monsters lurking against the backdrop of the second World War. As a child, Jacob is entranced by Abe, his supposed life history and the strange photographs that illustrate it, yet as he grows older his enchantment turns to feelings of disappointment and vague betrayal as he realises that his Grandfather’s monsters are really metaphors for the very real horrors of the holocaust. Or are they? After a truly traumatic event, Jacob finds himself driven to explore Abe’s past, his tall tales and above all Miss Peregrine’s Home For Peculiar Children.

Book Tour: Bumped - Megan McCafferty

Hi everyone and welcome to UK Book Tours! We're so excited to be launching today and I'm pleased to announce that our very first tour will be for Bumped by Megan McCafferty.

I'm ridiculously excited about this book - I only received a copy yesterday at the RHCB blogger brunch and knew I had to share it with you all. I'm on chapter three of my copy and it's absolutely brilliant and had me laughing out loud on the train more than once.

For more information have a read of the summary below (taken from Goodreads):

When a virus makes everyone over the age of eighteen infertile, would-be parents pay teen girls to conceive and give birth to their children, making teens the most prized members of society. Girls sport fake baby bumps and the school cafeteria stocks folic-acid-infused food.

Sixteen-year-old identical twins Melody and Harmony were separated at birth and have never met until the day Harmony shows up on Melody’s doorstep. Up to now, the twins have followed completely opposite paths.

Melody has scored an enviable conception contract with a couple called the Jaydens. While they are searching for the perfect partner for Melody to bump with, she is fighting her attraction to her best friend, Zen, who is way too short for the job.

Harmony has spent her whole life in Goodside, a religious community, preparing to be a wife and mother. She believes her calling is to convince Melody that pregging for profit is a sin. But Harmony has secrets of her own that she is running from.

When Melody is finally matched with the world-famous, genetically flawless Jondoe, both girls’ lives are changed forever. A case of mistaken identity takes them on a journey neither could have ever imagined, one that makes Melody and Harmony realize they have so much more than just DNA in common.
